Colbie Caillat is a Grammy-award winning singer. This coming May, she will be on the cover girl of “Fitness” magazine where this talented singer will also show she is also enviably fit! Colbie advice for women who feel self-conscious in a swimsuit:
1. It’s best to focus on the positive things about your body.
2. Don’t dwell on the negative since nothing good comes from it.
At 25, Colbie is totally toned, but this has not always been the case. Colbie wasn’t always fit nor was she always confident! She used to have a 32-inch waistline but has since slimed down to a 28-inch waistline. She used to skip from one diet to the next. She would do it for a week, lose some weight, stop and then go back to her eating habits and gain weight some more.
But this yo-yo dieting finally stopped when she became a vegetarian and began exercising regularly. Exercising helps her mind and body: her mood and self-esteem improved. She tries to have a full body workout, but if she can’t, she makes sure to jog for at least 20-minutes everyday.
Aside from feeling and looking good, it has also improved her singing performance.
“I’ve found that running really helps. When I sing the Fleetwood Mac song “Go Your Own Way” during concerts, I’m literally running around the stage, and now my breathing patterns are stronger. Besides that, when I’m in shape I have more stamina, which makes me perform better. It’s a chain reaction.”
